COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Rising sophomore Callie Shanahan of the Boston University women’s ice hockey team has been invited to the 2022 USA Hockey National Goaltending Camp, set for May 19-22 at USA Hockey Arena in Plymouth, Michigan.
The four days will consist of on-ice training, skill development, video analysis and team building activities for the 29 invitees, ranging from 17 to 21 years old. The camp will allow the group to compete among their peers, grow their game, self-evaluate and learn from an experienced camp staff.
Shanahan, whose hometown of Commerce, Michigan, is about 30 minutes north of USA Hockey Arena, was spectacular for the Terriers in her debut campaign with the team. A unanimous selection to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team, Shanahan posted a .926 save percentage and a 2.36 goals-against average in 13 appearances en route to a 6-5-2 record, with each tie being a 1-1 final. She secured her first collegiate shutout in just her second-ever start, stopping all 16 shots she faced in a 5-0 win over New Hampshire on Oct. 2. Shanahan made at least 30 saves on five separate occasions, including a 53-save effort at nationally ranked Northeastern on Jan. 21. She also turned aside 42 shots in her most recent start, a 1-1 tie at Providence on Feb. 18.
